Andy Warhol Retrospective at the Whitney Museum

The Whitney Museum of American Art opens a major retrospective that looks at the life, career, and impact of Andy Warhol's work. The Show titled "From A to Z And Back Again" will chronicle Warhol's full career.  Few artists find their works as instantly recognizable as Andy Warhol. His larger than life persona and willingness to experiment with non-traditional art-making techniques led to his image as an icon. Warhol understood the growing power of images in contemporary life and helped to expand the role of the artist in society.  The exhibition is the first Warhol retrospective organized by a U.S. institution since 1989. This is the largest monographic exhibition to date at the Whitney's new location, with more than 350 works of art, many assembled...

Calvin Klein NYC to Host “Andy Warhol: Shadows” Exhibition

After sponsoring the conservation of Andy Warhols "Shadows", Calvin Klein's NYC Headquarters will be hosting an exhibit featuring the newly restored works. In partnership with the Dia Art Foundation, the show will display the late artist’s iconic Shadows, silkscreen paintings that boast dynamic blurs of dark and light colors such as yellow, violet, coral, and aqua. All panels displayed at the space went under a 9-month restoration process that took place at Dia:Beacon in New York. “Shadows” was first presented in New York City by Dia in 1979.
